On a cool and cloudy summer day in the heart of Paris, Katrina, George and I met to celebrate their upcoming wedding with a sweet and romantic Eiffel Tower Engagement Session. This was during summer 2022 when Paris was preparing to host the Olympics. Most of the Trocadero was cordoned off for renovations as part of the city’s preparations. With careful planning and patience, though, we were able to have the most spectacular view over the iconic Eiffel Tower.
We started our morning at the first light of dawn, well before the tourist busses are out, so that we would have as much of the Trocadero to ourselves as possible. We were able to really slow down and make full use of every beautiful angle that was open to us. I always highly recommend starting as early as possible when working with landmarks in Paris. Even though the most popular locations like the Trocadero and the Louvre fill quickly, if you’re willing to start near dawn you can nearly always have the most gorgeous empty shots. I loved Katrina and George’s classic blue, white, and beige color palette. It perfectly accented the lush greenery and brought a gorgeous cool pop of color to the cloudy day.
It was an absolute pleasure celebrating the love these sweethearts share and their Eiffel Tower engagement session. As Owen Wilson says in one of my favorite movies, Moonlight in Paris, “Paris is most beautiful in the rain.” I have to agree no other city is as romantic or charming as Paris with cloudy skies.
