Come to Charleston with me today for this Intimate William Aiken House Wedding Inspiration! I relish every chance I have to visit the Holy City but this early spring weekend was particularly beautiful.
Set along historic King Street, the William Aiken House combines the exuberance and pastel color of the city with the intimacy of a private estate. It’s an ideal backdrop for couples who want to combine the energy and history of the city with the elegance and privacy of an intimate dinner party.
The bride sought to combine timeless romance with a modern elegant edge for her bridal look. Her artful gown layered tulle with detailed lace and beadwork. The exaggerated puffed sleeves were combined with an off the shoulder neckline for a dramatic yet feminine twist. Her simple yet sophisticated natural beauty look and neatly arranged chignon perfectly accompanied her show-stopping dress. For a flair of fashion forward edge, the bride chose a unique tulle bow choker in lieu of a traditional veil.
Reception Design
For the reception, planner Sarah Lillie and host Julie Livingston wanted to create a bold palette. The marble statues of the estate’s stunning dining hall inspired the design team. Working with a team of artisans, they played with height, texture, color, and sculpture to evoke an artistic, intimate setting.
