K+K Hotel George Review – Kennsington, London

Over Easter weekend, David and I went on a special getaway trip to London. It was our first time in the city so we didn’t have strong feelings about where to stay, we just wanted somewhere convenient, quiet, and comfortable. We quickly decided to be in the Kensington neighborhood because of how beautiful it looked and the neighborhood atmosphere. It was important to us to stay somewhere that looked and felt truly like London. The K+K Hotel George instantly fit with its white Victorian row home lined street and detailed ironwork. We adored our stay at the K+K Hotel George so today I wanted to share a look at the property, and share our experience there.

Location

The K+K Hotel George is in Earl’s Court, just a short 2-3 minute walk to the Earl’s Court Station. The hotel is tucked away among a line of beautiful Victorian row homes. It’s a quiet street but close to bustling city life. We especially loved the white columns and cheery yellow color. It truly had that quintessential London feel!

The hotel is located just one block from Earl’s Court station which is wonderful if you plan to ride the Tube often. There’s also a plethora of eateries and coffeeshops including London favorites like Over Under, Cafe Nero, Paul, and Pret a Manger.

The K+K Hotel George is less than a mile’s walk from bustling Kennsington High Street and about a mile and a half to beautiful Knotting Hill.

Experience

The K+K is a 4 star hotel and the service was as expected. We were greeted by a friendly team and there was always a stock of fresh water bottles in the lobby that we could grab before heading into the city. The property is beautifully decorated with modern furnishings and art collections. Even though we never actually got to enjoy the bar, it looked gorgeous with big windows and a roaring fireplace.

The room was a little small by American standards but was certainly larger than what I’m used to in France! The bed was comfortable and there were ample outlets around the room for all our electronics. Although the windows did not fully open, they let in beautiful light. We found we left them open most of our stay and enjoyed the breeze from the third floor.

The inner courtyard garden was large and beautifully maintained. It had plenty of seating all around and was a pleasant place to sit in the mornings.

Our only complaint about the property was the slowness of the WiFi. This was a problem for us throughout London, though, so I’m not sure if it was the property or just our connection.

The K+K averages around $175-$200 per night which we found to be very reasonable for the quality, service, and amenities provided. You can typically find better deals on third party than their own website, though.
