Perfectly manicured formal gardens, romantic tree-lined walks, sweeping ivy-covered climbing trellises… it sounds straight out of a French Chateau fairytale. However, today we’re staying in the United States with one of the most dream-worthy venues: Oheka Castle. Look familiar? Not only has this historic castle been home to countless movies, ads, and television programs, but also (and perhaps most iconically) it was the set of none other than Taylor Swift’s Blank Space music video. I truly can’t tell you how many times I rewatched that video in preparation for this Oheka Castle Wedding Editorial!
For this Modern French Romanticism inspiration, the creative team paired exquisitely crafted details like Ink and Press Co’s elegantly calligraphed invitation suite and floral mismatched china chargers with modern trends like the bride’s geometric Naeem Khan dress.
For the ceremony site, planner Rachel Ellen expertly paired contemporary floral design with the traditional elegance of the Chateau house, creating the perfect harmony of new and old.
“Our design is inspired by the old-world elegance of France paired with the undeniable romanticism in their language, art, and fashion,” said Hosts Rudney and Rachel.
In photographing this day, I aimed to balance the inherent luxury and grandeur of an Oheka Castle Wedding with the personalized, sumptuous details of our design inspiration. I am so thankful for the remarkably talented team who executed this dream day; their talent, experience, and vision shone through in every moment, and I look forward to capturing their work again!
